Just to let you know. . .

That a queen size bed is not very big.

Especially with 2 peoples (my daughter is with me for a while) and a basset the size of a small child, no make that a rather LARGE child that takes up half of the bed going across, and FIVE smallish to very small dogs.

THEN one dog, the new visitor, Max, thinks that this is FUN to have all this FRIENDS in the same location as him. . .

IT IS TWO OCLOCK IN THE MORNING. . .

"DOG GO TO SLEEP. . ."

Max thinks I'm PLAYING. . .

His BUTT is hitting his FACE because his TAIL is waggin so hard. . .

He is hittin ME in the face with his tail. . .

GGGGRRRRRRRRRR. . .

"Go get in a dog bed. . ."

off the bed he goes. . .

I'm goin back to sleep. . .

WELL, just as soon as Max quits whinin' . .

Which better be soooooon. . . .

32 years ago . . .

My first daughter was born, Tracy Dawn. She was a special child. We just didn't know at the time just how special she was. Nor how long she would be handing out hugs, kisses and smiles with flowers.

Trace loved everyone! She thought all people were her friends. She would pass out hugs to any and everyone. Laugh? This girl would laugh all the time!

Sometimes I just didn't appreciate what I had. Now I don't have it. Lesson to all. Grab those kiddos and keep those hugs, kisses and laughter and take them whenever offered. You never know when they will no longer be available. Hold those babies tight. Even when they are driving you absolutely crazy.

She was born today and left us on October 17, 1986, eight and a half years later. JD was 8 months, Layne 2, Chel 3 and Rabbit 10. I don't have a picture of all five of my kids together.

Hug those kids. Hold them close. We are not guaranteed tomorrow or even the next minute.

Tracy, 1, Rabbit, 2 1/2

Here's is Rabbit's post for today. How it feels as a child to lose a sibling.

Love to all,

Pits. .

What is it about arm pits that makes dogs wanna snuggle there? I wake up and have 3 dogs scrunched together under both arms . . weird creatures. . .

But I love 'em, I guess. .
