Just put my name in for Secretary or Treasurer for the English honor society at school.

I don't know... what WERE you thinking? Perhaps you were wanting to do something different and worthwhile. Yes?
The last time I volunteered was when I was unemployed last year. I went to a nursing home around the corner and gave the ladies manicures every wednesday at 2. I swear to you, they were lined up in their wheelchairs in the lobby just waiting for me. It was one of the sweetest things. Good for you...the world needs more volunteers!
