Just ramblin. . .

I hope everyone had an awesome holiday! I took advantage of the time away from work (and school) to get a couple of things done around the house.

I scraped, sanded, wire brushed the scrolly bars holding my porch and painted them black. They had ATLEAST 2 coasts of hand painted paint on them along with tons of rust. Took 1 day for each post. Mowed both yards at the end of those days. That was Friday and Saturday.

I'm purty proud here! What a difference it made!
(This is the blue chair I talk about 2 paragraphs down.)

Sunday, I installed a new kitchen faucet that I have had for 3 years,  I repainted the hall. It was a dreary tan/brown/beige. Totally. Walls, baseboards, doors, ceiling. Everything. Now it is the same cheery yellow of the kitchen, which it flows into, with white trim and a white ceiling. Repainted the door frames, baseboards in the kitchen too.

Go me!!

I notice I forgot the paint the edge of the door.. .

From the kitchen going into the hall

Michael and I painted a couple of white grungy plastic chairs a red. Can of paint says burgundy but I think it looks more like cherry red instead. But still cute! He also painted an old green wooden chair to an oxford blue, (again can color) that looks more like bright royal blue. But again still cute. Now I need a can of white to repaint the bottom of the storm door to get the rust spots off.

I also painted the pots terra cotta orange too.

Monday, I was just going to dig up the pecan tree babies in the flower bed next to the driveway. Instead, I pull all irises, scrape the ground almost level in the front half, haul Austin Stone from the back yard and make a divider so that all flower beds are the same size, replant the irises, transplant a maple tree baby, and lay 29 bricks in the front half of the flower bed that will take a total of 180 when I am finished.

My poor friend, Arthur Ray Tus, was sure hurting when this was all said and done. Hands, findgers, feet, knees. The whole sha bam was hurtin to the point of almost tears. But I just can't stop. It has to be done.

(And might I add here, that I think the temp was hovering around 101-102 the entire weekend. I shudda sweated off about 10 pounds, but alas, my scales are stuck at. . . . you honestly didn't think I was really gonna tell you what I weigh, did ya?)

This is my only holiday that I have nothing to do all year. School year holidays are NOT holidays. Things are always trucking along. THERE ARE NO HOLIDAYS WHEN IN SCHOOL. Then on those holidays that come inbetween, like Christmas, haha getting something done there, right! Memorial day, that is a catching up on sleep day.

Keep ole Scrappers in your thoughts and prayers, we will find out on Friday if he gets to keep his eye or not. He got grass in it and rubbed the little lesion into an ulcer that won't heal. His tear duct is not working so the eye is not being kept moist unless we put drops in it every hour or so. So he is on different meds now. He now runs when he sees me. It took me 10 minutes of looking for him this morning. He has found new hiding places. . .  Dogs and kids will drive you AB-SO-LUTE-LY nuts.

Next week is my quick trip to Minnesota. Ya'll go keep Michael company. He will probably love the peace and quiet but ya never know. . .He might actually miss his ole Ma!!

Hugs to ya'll!

Wow - I'm tired just reading this. I only went to one family party one day, then stayed in for two whole days avoiding the hot, humid weather because I have broken out in a rash all over my body. Not sure what it's from, but the heat aggravates it. Today is a visit to the dermatologist! I hope little Scrappers will be okay. Have fun in MN!

I just got muscle spasms thinking about the bending and twisting. God bless your energy. The eye doesn't sound good does it? I hope it heals but the poor baby must be uncomfortable. We'll definitely keep Micael company. He's awesome. Maybe I should send him to my son's door to give him a piece of his mind!

Wow! I'm glad my wife won't be reading this. She'd be all over me to get things done.
Good job and great work!

Busy, busy! I wish I could get in that kind of mood. I didn't know you could paint plastic chairs, I MUST tell hubs so he can get cracking on ours. They've been stuck in the garage out of sight for ages. Saying a little prayer for poor Scrappers.

I love yellow on the walls. Did my laundry a sunny yellow one time. Made a huge difference to washing day.
Love all the frames and mirrors in the 4th Picture.
I am certain Micael will miss his Mum but it could be a challnge to get him to admit it. I know my boys would be the same
