The leak

Welp, found a tee ninsy leak in the the rusted pipe. Called the plumber.

He came and fixed. These guys are great! Not too expensive and you know it is good to go when they leave.

But along with the bill, he left some advise:

Within  the next couple of years you will need to replace the galvanized pipe. It is rottin.

Good news (well that is if the home inspector is correct) is that there are only two pipes under there that are galvanized pipe, all others have been changed. Both are to outside faucets.

So now I get to figure out how much these two little suckers are gonna cost.

Life is so much fun, doncha think?

It is rarely boring.

Find a nickel, lose a dime...that's pretty much how it's gone for me the last couple years. Ah, the wonderful world of home ownership.
Good luck!

The joys of owning a home. My house in Connecticut is getting so old. I worry about this stuff happening too. Hope it's not too drastic to fix.

You'd think galvanized would be the way to go but as I found out a couple of years ago when I had to have the entire house re-plumbed it aint so.
The plumber told a similar story, salt soils rust these pipes very fast and I had to cop the expense of doing everything in copper.

If it isn't one thing, it's another. Yeah, life sucks sometimes.

One thing always seems to lead to another with houses.
At least you have reliable tradesmen you can call on
