Christmas and me

My favorites at Christmas:

Loading my boys up, not the grands, but MY boys and going to see Christmas lights. We all have something to say about them. We giggle and laugh and ride all over town and I get so excited, which makes them laugh.

Listening to Christmas music at home and in the car. I get to fast forward over the songs I am not KrAzY about. My favorite song: Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt.

Oh my favorite Christmas movie: The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant, David Niven, Loretta Young. In black and white.

Next Favorite movies: White Christmas with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, Its a Wonderful Life with Jimmy Stewart, The Bells of St Mary's with Bing Crosby and Ingrid Bergman, Boys Town with Mickey Rooney.

My favorite drink: Hot Spiced Apple Cider. The kind that comes in a packet is all I know how to make but I love that stuff. Next favorite is homemade Egg Nogg

Favorite Christmas TV Special: Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer with Burl Ives.

Favorite Christmas candy: Homemade Reese Balls

Favorite Christmas smell: Cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, oranges, mixed in a little bit of water and boiled on the stove.

Favorite recent memory: A couple of years ago, I was keeping the grandsons at that time and we were getting ready for Christmas and Uncle Rabbit always knows what he gets for Christmas no matter what we do to disguise it. So we wrapped rocks and news paper and he had to go on a Treasure Hunt to find his REAL presents, which weren't wrapped. But it was so much fun letting those boys hide the clues and wrap the boxes and find the rocks. We even wrapped boxes inside boxes! Uncle Rabbit had a blast! As did the boys did too! I think they were about 5 or 6 at that time. (I think Rabbit still has the rocks, but not the presents!)

Last year, we had all my Other kids over for Christmas Eve and had snacks and sat around outside. Then came in and watched the movie The Nativity Story. Very good movie. We, well actually not me, but the kids and the grands played Twister! We have some great pictures of that!

Well those are a few of my favorite things. Hope you have some great ones too!

Kackle today! Spread the cheer! God Bless You each and every one!

My favorite Christmas movies are It's a Wonderful Life and The Polar Express. Well, I have to add A Christmas Story in there as well!

Hey KaLynn, I love that apple cider too! That was so cute to set up the treasure hunt for uncle Rabbit, I bet he loved it and the kids would have had a good giggle watching. I love the Christmas lights too although now that I'm married to a man that was brought up Jewish, he doesn't get the looking at lights things. I do all the decorating but he is a good sport and goes out and buys a real tree for me each year. Thanks for sharing, by the way, my favorite movie is Christmas Vacation with Chevy Chase!

The Bishop's Wife has always been my favorite Christmas movie, too. White Christmas is a close second, with Holiday Inn and Christmas in Connecticut tied for third. Love my Christmas movies! (Also love Santa Baby)

Santa Baby, that is a great song. We make our own Liquer at Christmas with chocolate syrup, heavy cream, whiskey, and ice cubes in the blender. It's a dessert drink, but you just can't get enough of it!

This will be the first Christmas GF and I are in the same house. We have begun to develop our own traditions in the last three years and will continue to do so. Thank God for her coming into my life as I had skipped the holiday to the best of my ability for over 2 decades before she came along.

YNB-I have Polar Express! I totally forgot about that one!! It will come out this year too!

MNM-Christmas lights! I'm sorry you don't get to ride around and see them. Some are wonderful! We have a street, in the ritsy part of town, that the whole street, dresses up and on weekends the neighbors will stand out and hand out candy to the kids as they drive by! Too cool!

Janie B-I have never heard of Holiday Inn or Christmas in Connicut. I also like A Boyfriend for Christmas too.

Secretia-I am going to have to try that!! Sounds yummy!!

Miles-I am sooo happy for you that you have GF and her family! That is soo cool that you have Christmas again! Life is much better when you have someone to share it with!

Georgina and JennyMac-See newest post! Recipes are there!
