The Fallen Four

I get an email every week from MSN Week of Pictures. The last one got me today. It is the caskets for the four  police officers from Lakewood, Washington draped with the American flag.

Please remember these officers families this holiday season.

And speaking of remembering families: Our soldiers fighting all over the world to keep us safe. My other son, Shaun, is in Iraq this holiday season. I miss him dearly. Shaun, if you are readin this, remember Momma K loves you muches!

May we remember those who keep us safe day in and day out, whether it be here on the home front or far away. May God bless each and every one of them.

Happy Holidays to all.

Something else y'all might be interested in... Xerox is offering a service where you can send free holiday post cards to the troops. I think they do it each year - just visit their site at http://www.letssaythanks.com/ and you can select which card design and message you prefer and they will send them out. It's a great, easy (on our part) way to say "Thank You" for all that they do. It's just a few clicks and a minute or two out of your day that could mean the world to one of our amazing soldier's that give us so much of their own lives on a daily basis.

Happy holidays, y'all!!!

What a powerful image. Yes, we need to stop for more than a few seconds and really remember all those who will not be spending the holidays with loved ones so we can all be safe with our own. Thanks KaLynn, very important message.

This is a sad image. Especially at this time of year. I'm thankful to anyone who serves this country, here or abroad.

I'm glad the post inspired you.

It's easy to forget and go about our business and forget about the soldiers unless we are directly affected - like having a husband, brother, father, or son in the military. Thanks for the friendly reminder, and may you son return home safely.

Pat, Thanks! Actually the reason I call Shaun my Other son is because we are not blood related. He actually has a blood mom and dad but him and my JD are best friends and he has been at my house since he was in 5th or 6th grade, he is now 23 but he calls me Momma and I claim him as my Other son. But I also have a couple more Other kids. So if you hear me talk about my Other kids, you will know that I did not give birth to them but they are mine anyway.
