Touchy Feely

As you guys know, I went to the doc on Monday, remember, the Red Camaro day? My chest had been hurtin' like KRAAAzy for about 5 days. Felt kinda like brochitis but I wasn't coughin' just hurtin'. Turns out it's acid reflux. Geez, who knew it could hurt that bad..

Doc gave me some meds. Since I have been taking them, now I am sleeping really, really well. I mean REALLY well. I am not waking up 19 times in 3 hours anymore!! I pretty much sleep all night now. Before I would wake up when the dogs WALKED across the floor. Went to get a drink. I could hear them do just about anything. (I do not have carpet in my house, so EVRYTHING makes a sound. Well almost everything. Peein' on the table leg doesn't always make a sound. Well, not until I round the corner, THEN a sound erupts. .)

So I'm sleepin' like a LOG, SURROUNDED BY D. O. G. S. FIVE to be exact. Two are curled next to me on my front side, one is at my shoulders in the back, one is on her QUEEN pillow and Harlie is at the foot of the bed.

I am awakened by something TOUCHING MY LEG. This something is barely touching me but it is TOUCHING me. I come instantly awake! I account for all dogs. WHAT IS IN MY BED???

I DARE NOT MOVE A MUSCLE. I'M SOOO SCARED.

I AM BARELY BREATHING!! OH! MY! GOSH! IT REALLY IS THERE! IT'S TOUCHING ME AGAIN!!! I WANT TO SCREAM, JUMP OUT OF BED, RUN, ANYTHING!! BUT. . I AM BRAVE. .

I slowly, very slowly reach down to feel what is touching me.

Harlie moves her paw one more time.

SHE HAS CRAWLED UNDER THE COVERS AND IS LAYING NEXT TO MY LEGS.

I'm tellin' ya, I almost wet the bed I was so scared.

Hope you kackled today.

Haha.

I'd have also been freaked out.

I'm so sorry about the acid reflux. That stuff SUCKS. I'm glad you're sleeping better, though.

That would terrify me, too. :-)

Could have been worse.

KaLynn, you're gonna have to do something about those dogs waking you up either licking the toilet bowl or crawling into bed with you. They've been scaring the crap out of you lately! Keep taking that acid reflux medication, wish I could sleep through the night for a change!

Menopausal New Mom, Harlie is having to learn 'manners'. JD pretty much lets her get away with stuff. Then he works nights and so until she moved in here she was up at night. Basically she is a good girl. She's just a yr old puppy that needs her manners tweeked! I figure Harlie and your baby are probably on the same schedule! Meno and a little one! My heart goes out to YOU!! My grandsons were born when I was 44, so I was taking one and Chere had the other! You've always got a shoulder here!

Secretia, I actually was thinking a mouse was in my bed! Never have I had that happen but there is always a first!

Jules, Acid reflux is bad but the doc started checking for heart problems! I'll take the AR!At least it is treatable!

Whispering Writer, I did go back to sleep pretty quick once I realized it was just her checking to make sure I was still there.

Love you gals!

I'm in denial. My doctor prescribed me some antacids (not acid reflux...yet) and I'm not taking them. I know. I know.

I'm sooo glad you're sleeping again. Isn't modern medicine wonderful?!

As far as dogs on/in the bed. My cocker spaniel Munson sleeps at my feet on top of the covers. BUT Newton has always slept under the covers next to my legs.

I held my breath while reading that.. just waiting to hear that you had a mouse in your bed or something. Soooo relieved to hear otherwise. Or else it would have been me waking up tonight with nightmares. :)

I also just finished writing a blog about my dog Monroe! This made me laugh. My dog insists on sleeping above my head on my pillows. I cannot tell you how many times I have forgot that he sleeps there and I wake up in a daze and get the fright of my life! He gives me the usual look as if to say "what?". God bless our pets!

@Theresa, I had been eating Maaloxx tablets like they were candy. It seemed everything I ate made me have indigestion. You would think I would have lost weight! BUT NOOOO! It seemed for every food I didn't eat I added a pudding or yogurt or some low calorie item but when you eat more than ONE low calorie item, it sorta defeats the purpose!

Later in the day I remembered letting Harlie under the covers but not at that moment!

@Stacey, I prolly wouldn't have wrote this if it had really been a mouse! Like you I have very visual skills!! I had some one tell me one time they found a roach in their bed. It took me MONTHS to not flick the covers ALL the way back!

@KrysStar, Yep know that feeling well! Harlie is actually my son's child. He has just recently moved in for a while and he works nights. So Harlie has begun sleeping with me in the DOG bed.I really can't say MY bed, because there is only ONE of me and now FIVE of them!!

So glad the meds are working and you're sleeping better. I once had a scorion in my bed and no, it was not a zodiac scorpion, but the real thing. Those stings HURT! Really creeped me out too. How does a scorpion get in your bed? I still don't know.
